DIY – How to make Face Mask and Sanitizer at Home?

Coronavirus is a thing now and people are taking it more seriously. Preventing the spread of COVID-19 is the best way to make things right. Face masks and hand sanitizers are the way to go if you want to eliminate the threat of infection. If you are healthy, then use face mask in public for your own safety. Materials needed

  • Kitchen paper towel
  • Tissue Paper
  • Rubber bands
  • A hole Punch
  • Paper masking tape
  • Scissors
  • Plastic coated wires

Steps Involved

  • Wash your hands and the tools thoroughly.
  • Place one piece of kitchen paper on top of another.
  • Put one piece of tissue paper on top of kitchen paper.
  • Cut the paper stacks in half.
  • Take both sides.
  • Punch two holes on each side.
  • Tape a plastic coated wire on to the kitchen paper side.
  • Tie rubber bands through the holes.

Alcohol hand Sanitisers

Any alcohol-based sanitiser with at least 60 percent alcohol is good to use. Due to rapid spread of Coronavirus disease, alcohol hand sanitisers are difficult to get. The good news is you can prepare them at home.

Materials required

  • Three-fourth cup of Iso propyl or rubbing alcohol (99 percent alcohol volume)
  • One-fourth cup of Aloe Vera gel
  • Essential oils or lemon juice

How to prepare?

  • Pour all the ingredients into a clean bowl.
  • Mix with a clean spoon and then beat with a whisk to turn it into a gel.
  • Pour in a clean bottle.

Homemade sanitizers should be used only when you are not able to buy hand sanitizer from a verified brand. Use of these homemade sanitizers should be restricted to adults only. Use the hand sanitizer properly. Rub in on your palm, back of the hand, and under the nails for 30 to 60 seconds or until dry. Use of soap and water should be the top priority and hand sanitizers should be used only soap and water are not available.
